An Appeal from the Red Cross Society

In the latest report from the Washington, the Red Cross Society of United States of America has requested help to the people of the state as recently thousands of people were affected by the winter storm. In this critical situation, many of the blood donors came up and showed the real picture of humanity while donating blood for the victims of the storms. As per the recent update of last Monday, due to the natural calamities, there are many blood donors are not turning up. Many of the donors have simply refused to donate their blood. For this reason, this month’s supplies for blood are going for a toss. Unfortunately, the January supply is falling under the threat and this month as it has been recorded that it had fallen under the lowest for the decade. With the additional wintry weather and with the presence of east coastal hurricane, it has been forecasted that the Red Cross Society is influencing more and more people, so that everyone could come ahead and make other adequate preparations to donate blood. In this way, members of the society would be helping to increase the quantity of the blood supply in order to make it available as per the adequate requirements. All these thoughts have been put across in a conference arranged by the Red Cross Society.

Apart from these issues, the effect of the storm was so devastating that more than fourteen thousand blood donors have denied and changed their mind towards the blood donations campaign. All those donors have given up for lost for the forth coming blood donation camps as well. However, the members of Red Cross Society are still going through the scarcity of all samples of the various blood groups. In this regard, the O negative blood group is highly required. To defend such situations, the members of the Red Cross Society are encouraging each individual and spreading the awareness of blood donation. In addition, each member of the Red Cross Society has declared that whoever is seventeen or above that age, who has the body weight of minimum one hundred ten pounds and if health wise such individuals do not suffer any problems, then they will be considered as donors and they could call 1-800-RED-CROSS or those people could log on to www.redcross.org.

Red Cross Society has left no stone unturned to motivate people in order to donate blood. The members of the same society believe that with each passing time, a patient in the United States and across the world requires a blood transfusion. Moreover, each drop of the blood is fragile and nothing can replace nor it can be surrogated. So, people need to understand the functionality of the Red blood cells which have a layer of existence and that remains active for only forty two days. Similarly, the platelets of the blood cell remain active for only five days. In this way the Red Cross Society is appealing to each human being.
